On Tues., Feb. 26 students, faculty, and staff were invited to the Red Door for drinks, snacks, and good conversation. Students who were 21+ were served alcoholic beverages. This was the second "chill" event of the '07-'08 academic year. The event had a good turn out and students expressed their appreciation for the coordination of these events.

The event was sponsored by: the Dean of Students Office, Campus Safety, Office of Residential Services, Student Activities Office, the Athletic Department, Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement, and the Office of Seegers Union.

This event first began last Nov. with the "November Chill." The idea came from Greg Rose '08 who researched events similar to this one earlier in the year.

The purpose of having these events is to promote a stronger sense of campus community and encourage interaction between students, faculty, and staff.

At this event, students were found mingling with one another and relaxing on the Red Door couches while taking a break from the stress of midterms.

"I really enjoyed the Feb. Chill. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable and I was able to see a lot of my friends and have some of the yummy snacks. I hope that there are other events like this in the future," said Lindsay Ennis '10.

"I certainly had a great time with my friends. We all sat around, drank some wine, and took a break from all of our midterm studying. It was a really nice event and I hope that the school sponsors many more," said Lindsay Kutner '08.
