After seven weeks of sweat, tears, blood, and man-hugs, the 2008 Intramural Football season has come to an end. In the "game of the year" in the regular season, Team Wish prevailed over the pre-season Vegas Odds-Makers' favorite to win the title, Ramrod. Ramrod, which consisted of mostly former football players, was stunned when Wish defensive lineman, senior Andrew Cipriano, intercepted a screen pass and returned it for the momentum swaying touchdown. Both Team Wish and Team Keith finished their regular season schedules undefeated, and entered the playoffs as the top two seeds. The first round of the playoffs saw the upset of the year. Offensive Player of the Year, junior Brian Ward, and his Team JORDAN! Beat Ramrod, ending the season for the preseason favorites in the first round. Awaiting Team JORDAN! in the Final Four was undefeated Team Keith. In a hotly contested gridiron affair, Team Keith prevailed and headed for the championship bout. In the second Final Four game, Team Al Carpetto gave undefeated Team Wish their tightest game of the playoffs, but nonetheless, Team Wish prevailed by 8 to earn their spot in the championship.

So the championship game was set: the undefeated co-regular season champs would square off, winner taking home the coveted Coatesville Classic Cup. Led by the unanimous Playoff Most Valuable Player, Senior Steve Borchard, Team Wish pulled away from previously undefeated Team Keith in a dominating fashion. When the final whistle blew, Team Wish won the Coatesville Classic Cup 42-6. Leading the defensive effort for Team Wish was the Defensive Player of the Year, senior Jason Rattino, a star in the defensive backfield.

Other members of Team Wish's championship roster included seniors Mike Madaio, Frank Summers, Ryan Paskin, Tim Ganter, William Wishart, Brian Fakhoury, Matt Katz, and a few others. Muhlenberg Intramural Sports would like to thank all players and all those who assisted in officiating the games and also the chain gang for the season.
