It's that time of year, fashionistas: award season. The time when all the most successful stars wear their very best on the red carpet. The most recent award shows, the People's Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, brought out lots of different styles. From vintage gowns to designer shoes, the stars gave glamour a whole new meaning.
The ladies looked stunning in their evening attire and the men cleaned up nicely as well. The Disney crew (Vanessa Hudgens, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus) all wore dresses that weren't so PG rated at the People's Choice Awards. Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus both wore plunging necklines and Vanessa Hudgens wore a black and gold spider-web inspired gown that showed off her toned back. Lea Michelle and Emma Stone unfortunately did not do the red carpet justice. The first looked awkward in a white flapper inspired dress and the later desperately tried to rock a green and black pantsuit. However, while Lea Michelle remained a hot mess at the Golden Globes, Emma Stone learned her lesson. At the Golden Globes, Stone got on the plunging neckline train, wearing a deep plum Lanvin tulle gown with raspberry side panels.
Back at the People's Choice Awards, Twilight star Ashley Greene and up-and-coming actress Jennifer Lawrence were also failed attempts. Their odd-patterned and somewhat unoriginal dresses were fashion fails. However, the breakout star Nina Dobrev from The Vampire Diaries looked absolutely dashing in her green dress and white pumps. Similarly, Kristen Bell looked red hot and Whitney Cummings looked emerald green. Together they would have made a perfect Christmas tree. Finally, Julianne Hough, normally receives attention for her rocking moves and relationship with Ryan Seacrest, took center stage in her dazzling, skintight, metallic silver number.
Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus' hot beau, looked effortlessly cool in a suit and opened-necked shirt. Gene Simmons wore a long silk red tie. Partners Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka looked liked the perfect couple. Patrick wore a tan number with a stripped tie, while Burtka rocked the "opened neck" look. Twilight star Robert Pattinson looked absolutely dreadful at the show. He couldn't even put on a dress shirt? Finally, Kristen Bell's boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder, from The Vampire Diaries, looked somewhat cheesy in his grey suit with a black opened neck shirt. The best suit-wearer by far, and winner of the best talk show host, was Ellen DeGeneres.
For the females, between both shows, Jessica Biel wins best dressed in a long-sleeved lace. Elie Saab gown with Platinum jewels. For the males, the best dressed was a tie between Rob Lowe's gorgeous appearance at the Golden Globes and Liam Hemsworth's look at the People's Choice Awards.
