Pasquarello takes on new management position at DeSales

John Pasquarello, General Manager of Dining Services since August 2000, has announced his resignation. Pasquarello has accepted the position of General Manager at DeSales University, located in Center Valley, Pa. DeSales is another Sodexho operating account located in the Lehigh Valley.

Campus Safety Notes

Mar. 13 - Fire Alarm Sounding - A fire alarm went off due to burned food from cooking at 2206 Chew Street. Mar. 13 - Injured Student - A student living on the third floor of Prosser Hall cut his finger with a razor, causing the finger to bleed. MCEMS responded and provided first-aid.

New Dorm open and filling up quickly

Most of the Student Body has probably noticed the construction on 22nd and Chew Streets. If you have not seen it, or you are wondering what it is, that new building is a new dormitory and students have already moved in. The unnamed dormitory currently being called 2201 Chew Street is one of the new buildings currently being built on campus.

Sandella's now open in The Red Door

If you have been downstairs in Seegers Union recently, you have probably noticed the signs for Sandella's, the new dining facility in The Red Door. Sandella's first opened its doors on Mon., March 12, the day after Spring Break. It offers some unique items which can not be found in the General's Quarters or Garden Room, including the very popular Chicken Fajita Quesadilla or Smoked Bacon Pizza.

Pick your flick at Trexler Library

Matt Pearson, Representative of the Class of 2010, proposed that the College starts a "DVD Lending Library." The "Lending Library" is a collection of DVDs that will be added to those already available in Trexler Library. This newer collection would be comprised of donated entertainment DVDs that would be put aside for use with the proposed DVD Lending Library program.

New napkin dispensers to the rescue

One of the newest changes to the dining services at the College is the implementation of napkin dispensers in the Garden Room and General's Quarters. Prior to these change, tables held stacks of napkins in plastic containers. Although these napkins were easy to see and useful for students if they were consuming large amounts of food, members of the College believed that napkin dispensers would benefit the students and the environment.

Musicians and speakers gather to "Sing Out Against War"

Over 120 students, faculty and local citizens gathered for "Sing Out Against the War," a College Democrats-sponsored peaceful protest against war in Iraq. The event, held on the four-year anniversary of U.S. invasion into Iraq, featured speakers and musical performers from both the College and across the Lehigh Valley.
