Whenever a student is hit by a car it should be taken as a serious incident that should command immediate attention. Following the recent accident on Chew Street involving a student being struck by the vehicle of a non-student, many should be wondering what exactly the College plans to do to eliminate another accident from occuring in the future.
Thanksgiving with the Klein family is always an adventure, as I'm sure it is with every other family known to man. Thanksgiving is the only holiday when one of the vital preparations is violating a turkey with fistfuls of stuffing. At my house, besides my sisters and I getting yelled at by my mother, we continue one other tradition every Thanksgiving; we go around the table and say what we are most thankful for.
An experienced Muhlenberg Dance major is denied any part in this semester's dance shows. A junior Dance major regrets her active involvement in Muhlenberg's student life. A rising sophomore Theatre major decides against pledging a sorority next fall because she wants the chance to land a role in a play.
I have to chuckle when I try to convince myself that I am studying abroad. It is more appropriate to say that I am "studying away." We have all been here on high school field trips and family vacations. We have all read about it in history books. We all know the important people in American history who have lived and governed from this city.
Should the government know where you have attended college, how long you were there and whether or not you obtained your degree? According to Monday's issue of the New York Times, the federal government has proposed the creation of a new database which would contain enrollment records on all college and university students.
To the Editor: I am writing regarding Ryan Kavalsky's November 18 article, entitled "Waiting saves the beauty of sex." First, I wanted to write to praise Ryan. His article is nothing short of gutsy. Though I disagree with the tone and the message of the letter, I am impressed with his decision to write it.
To the Editor: Do we all agree that it's important for students to attend afternoon classes on the day before Thanksgiving and midterm breaks? If we do, then the college needs to keep the dorms open til early the following morning. Last Wednesday was a rainy day with wet roads across the northeast.
To the Editor: In the Nov. 18 edition of The Weekly, Christina Liciaga writes in her article "Putting Together Pound, Pippin and Sex," "...as far as sex is concerned, my Christian upbringing, which condemned sex as sin...previously forced me to fit sex into competing brackets of compromise and condemnation.
