Student Spotlight: Kristyn Brady

Meredith Williams

Issue date: 2/3/05 Section: Life!
As MDA president Brady has worked to organize the rules and regulations of the club. In particular she has been more stringent in not allowing club members to audition if they do not complete production hours. Brady says she is not trying to be mean, but the dancers need to understand that if they do not do behind the scenes work shows cannot be put on.

As her time as MDA president quickly passes she hopes that the next administration continues to work closely with the Muhlenberg Theatre Association. "The more we work together in the future the better both of our organizations can be. We'll have a broader reach," she explained.

Brady also hopes that next year the new leaders will work to preserve the positive atmosphere of the organization. She described the group currently as very supportive and friendly, enjoying dance for the fun of the activity.

Community service has also played a role in the dance association. Last winter there was a scarf, hat and mitten drive, and these items were donated to an orphanage in Kiev, Ukraine. Brady also hopes that MDA enhances the tradition of giving not only to the Muhlenberg community but also to the broader community

The well-versed senior is now ready for the next step. In the beginning of the year she was nervous about leaving. The year has progressed she is now excited about getting into the real world. She described the college campus as a bit sheltered and is now ready to struggle with real problems. "I'm ready for the challenge," she said.
