With a first half played very tightly, the Mules headed to the locker room with a 31-30 lead. The Mules would not look back from there. The second half started with a bang as the Mules quickly too control throwing a 30-6 run at the Blue Jays from John Hopkins at the start of the second half and easily won the game 75-58. Muhlenberg was able to win despite Hopkins 20 point scorer Julie Miller, and being out rebounded 51- 36. The Mules countered a turnover forcing defense creating 25 Hopkins turnovers. The charge for the Mules seemed to be led by Sophomore Abra Like who leads the league in assists and continued to show off her passing ability. Abra finished the game with 7 points, 10 assists, 5 steals, and a plethora of defections and saved balls. She gave a lot of credit to her coaches scouting and game plan, and says "in order for the team to be successful the team just has to keep pushing the ball." Her hustle was outstanding at one point she deflected a pass tracked it down while falling out of bounds and found an open teammate. Giving her the first ever Hustle Player of the Week Award. The Mules also received big play from forward and center Meghan Courtney '07, and Erin McSherry '09 who contributed double digits in points. Of course once again the Muhlenberg scoring charge was led by Lauren Boyle '09 who had a team high 15 points as she was as Coach Rohn put it "just average good". He also contributed his team's success in part to Hopkins number 1 and 2 point guards being out, as well as his team's execution of the game plan. He has been impressed with Like's play thus far and was very pleased with McSherry's play especially in the second half. Muhlenberg has looked sharp this far with a record of 4-0 and will go on the road today to play Drew as Coach Rohn looks for his 100 career win at Muhlenberg. They follow that up with a game against Washington at Memorial Hall at 4:00 on Saturday.
