As the second day of classes finished up for the 2007 spring semester, the Muhlenberg women retook the court at Memorial Hall hoping to start another winning streak on home turf against the Ursinus Bears. The Mules took an early lead and held onto it throughout the game but were never able to pull away from the Bears. Muhlenberg went up nine almost midway through the first half, but as the half ended Ursinus pulled within two points and would continue to fight back.

In the second half, the Mules once again were able to go up nine, but again the Bears fought back and got within two points. After a missed free-throw by sophomore Lauren Boyle, Urisnus attempted a three, but missed and the rebound was secured by sophomore Kaitlin Strumph who later would hit the second of two free-throws to seal the deal for the Mules with a 63-60 victory.

The Mules were led by Boyles' 17 points, but also got contributions from senior Meghan Courtney who had 15 points and seven rebounds. The Mules had begun the second semester with a win and would carry their winning-streak into Saturday's game against Washington College.

The Muhlenberg women woke up early and traveled down to Chestertown, Md. to take on the Washington College Shorewomen. Chestertown is a tough environment to play in: the crowd is right on top of you and the acoustics in the gymnasium increase volume and confusion. The Mules, who have been notorious for winning close games, had another close one to pull out against the Shorewomen. Muhlenberg came within one in the final seconds, but were unable to pull off another nail-biter. They fell to the Shorewomen 64-63.

The Mules saw solid contributions from Meghan Courtney '07 with 23 points despite twisting her ankle towards the end of the first half. They also saw 11 assists and eight rebounds from Abra Like '08 and a career high ten rebounds from Strumph. The Mules have a busy schedule coming up, and this tough stretch might really test the young team. However, this is a resilient bunch that seems to pull out victories no matter what situation they face.
