Headed into their last home game of the season, the Muhlenberg Women's Basketball team started the game without their starting point guard Abra Like '08, but with high expectations to not start a losing skid, and give their Seniors, friends, family and fans a grand send off. The Mules won the initial tip against their conference rivals, the Dickinson Red Devils, but the momentum of the game was destined to swing back and forth like a pendulum.

Going into the game, Dickinson (19-4, 13-3) with the top defense in the conference, was ranked second in the conference, beating out the Mules (19-4, 12-4) by one conference win. Both teams have already secured a playoff berth. The game started off slow, with the first points coming on a three point play from Dickinson's Howard, almost four minutes into the game. The game continued on in a slow pace, with the mules first points coming from McSherry '09. Soon after, the Mules tied it up with two made free throws from Courtney '07. With a little over thirteen minutes remaining in the first half, the score was tied up at six, but the pace of play began to pick up. Emily Wright '07 broke a tie and put the Mules up by three after dropping a tre with 10:26 remaining in the first half. The lead didn't last very long however, as both teams refused to give in during this testy match-up.

After hanging in tough, the Mules began to fall behind, 11-18, with less than five minutes to play in the first half. However the Mules began to bounce back with seven straight points, a couple of steals, and some great defensive play, again tying the game up. After back to back baskets from the Red Devils, and a pair of made free throws from Lauren Boyle '09, the mules went into the locker room down, 20-22.

The Mules started off the second half on a high note, with another three pointer from Wright, her third of the game. Wright immediately continued with her hot hand by scoring again from behind the line, for her fourth three pointer of the game. Despite Wright's hot shooting, the Red Devils great defensive play managed to keep the game close, and they soon retook the lead. With less than 13 minutes to play, the Mules were down six, 28-34. Yet again the determined Mules came back, and with about 10 minutes remaining in the second half, Wright scored her fifth three pointer of the game, bringing the Mules back 33-34.

With 7:06 remaining in the second half, the Mules suffered a scare when Bethany Enterline '09 fell to the ground. She appeared to have difficulty breathing. After regaining her composure, she walked off the court under her own power, but did not return to the game.

With 4:24 remaining in the second half, after coming back from a timeout, the Mules were down 39-42. Boyle scored the first basket from returning from the timeout, bringing the Mules within one, but after a three point play from Dickinson, the Mules were again down four with less than two minutes remaining in the game. Shortly after, Kaitlyn O'Malley was fouled driving to the basket. She split on the ensuing foul shots bringing the Mules within three points. However on the next three possesions for Dickinson, the Red Devils were fouled three times, making five of the six foul shots, bringing the score 42-50, which remained the score as time ran out, for this mean upsetting loss for the Mules.
