Women's Lacrosse has taken off over the past few years at Muhlenberg, and this year should only add to the team's success. Last season, the team had an overall record of 10-6, 3-6 in the Centennial Conference and even broke the previous school record for wins with ten and also for assists with a total of 109. They are looking forward to starting off the 2007 season with a bang. Leading them into another spring season is Katie Reimann, a Captain and senior who is making her mark on Muhlenberg Women's Lacrosse.

A graduate of Waynflete High School in Cumberland, ME, Reimann

has provided leadership and dedication for Muhlenberg's Women's Lacrosse. She has been playing since the eighth grade, making the upcoming season her ninth year playing and has worked extremely hard to get to the level she is at today. Throughout the years, Reimann has participated not only in lacrosse but was also a member of the Varsity soccer team and field hockey team at her high school. But here at Muhlenberg, she has decided to focus solely on lacrosse, and she has become a huge impact player for the Mules. She Co-Captains the team with the only other senior, Kelli Sakonshick.

Reimann has been a great competitor over the years. She was honored as part of the Western Maine All Conference Team while also leading her high school team all the way to two state championships in 2001 and 2003. Between those two championship seasons, Reimann sustained a broken collarbone the fall of her junior year. But she came back and during her senior year, she served as Captain of her high school team.

As a midfielder, Reimann contributes both offensively and defensively. An overall threat, she is currently second on the team of returning players for points with 28, and she ranks third for draw controls with 17. Katie contributed to the Mules' record-breaking statistics last season as she tallied 13 goals and 15 assists.

When she is not on the field, Reimann enjoys baking, reading and of course, running. She is also a member of Alpha Chi Omega. Reimann has found academic success as well, and she works hard as a double major, focusing on Media and Communication as well as Business with a concentration in marketing. After graduation, she hopes to find a job in public relations.

As for the pending season, Reimann is optimistic and ready to get back on the field. She says, "I am so excited for this upcoming season. We just barely missed the playoffs last season so our team goal is to make the Centennial Conference playoffs this year." In 2006, the Mules almost earned a playoff berth in the Centennial Conference for the first time, but they were unable to cling to the final spot. The Mules simply ran out of games as they went on a hot streak just when the regular season closed out. They were forced to settle with finishing the season on a winning note, but outside of the playoff race. However, Reimann knows that this year, the playoffs are a definite possibility. She says, "We lost five seniors last year but the team looks great. We have lots of energetic and driven players and we should definitely make an impact." Women's Lacrosse kicks off their season at King's on Thurs., March 1 at 4:00 p.m..
