Women's Tennis top trio leads its team to victory

Women's Tennis was impressive against Ursinus on Tues., Apr. 10, shutting their Centennial Conference opponent out 9-0. Sophomores Jenn Powell and Carly Rotfeld along with senior Pam Kimmelman won their No. 1 doubles match and also won their singles matches. Junior Jacquelyn Magner and sophomores Maddy Goldfarb and Olga Skropad also contributed singles wins in the solid victory against the Bears.

Two days later on Thurs., Apr. 12, the Mules took on Elizabethtown but were unable to come out victorious, losing 4-5. Powell and Kimmelman won their No. 1 doubles match, 8-6 and also won their No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, respectively. Rotfeld also had an impressive showing, beating her No. 3 singles opponent 6-1, 6-1, improving her overall record to 10-0.

On Sat., Apr. 14, the team battled another Centennial Conference team, Swarthmore. Kimmelman, Rotfeld and Goldfarb all won their singles matches, but the team fell to Swarthmore 6-3. However, the very next day they were able to come back and beat the Gettysburg Bullets 5-4 on Senior Day. The lone senior, Pam Kimmelman, helped the Mules to victory winning 6-0; 6-2 in the Centennial Conference matchup. At No. 2, doubles, Rotfeld and freshman Danielle Weiss beat the Bullets by taking the final five games to win 8-4. Powell, Kimmelman and Rotfeld all won in straight sets in the singles slots, with Rotfeld an undefeated 12-0. The team's overall record moved to 5-5, 5-3.

The Men's Tennis Team has played little lately, with their matches against Albright and Ramapo being postponed and rained out. However, they were able to get one recent match played against Washington (MD) on Sat., Apr. 14 where they lost a tough one, 9-0.
