Junior tailback John DeLuca stole the show again, as he ran for a career-high 188 yards and two touchdowns, running up his total to 908 rushing yards and 9 rushing touchdowns (he also has 1 receiving touchdown and 1 passing TD). He also has a lot of help from the people around him. Offensively, the Mules were steady once again, as they had three different players, including DeLuca, score on the ground, and quarterback Eric Santagato played efficiently, as he went 12-18 for 168 yards, and no interceptions. What was even more amazing was how this offense stole more thunder from another impressive performance from the defense. However, with the amazing prowess of the defense, it was hard to steal all of it.

In the 31-0 victory, the Mules recorded their 4th shutout of the season, and held Franklin & Marshall to 151 yards of total offense, and only 25 rushing yards on 33 carries. The defensive performance also led to 7 sacks, including 1.5 sacks by senior captain Dustin Good, as well as 14 tackles for loss. All these numbers continue to add up, as the Muhlenberg Defense has had a banner year, allowing only 37 points in 7 games, just over 5 points per game.

The pollsters again have noticed the Mules excellence, as they moved up in the Division 3 Coaches Poll to 20th. The last three games will provide the stiffest test for the Mules, as they face Dickinson, Ursinus, and arch-rival Moravian in the final three weeks of the regular season. Their combined record is 18-4, and they are all still in the hunt for the Centennial Conference Championship, as well as the Division 3 Playoffs. Next week, Dickinson comes to Muhlenberg for Parents Weekend, game time is at 1:00 P.M. over at Scotty Wood Stadium.
