The Men's Team, ranked seventh in the Mideast Region after the Paul Short Run, had another strong showing at the DeSales Invitational, finishing fourth. The teams to top their score of 86 were New Jersey, Salisbury, and Swarthmore, but all of the top four teams were very close. Leading the men was once again junior David Chorney, who crossed the finish line in sixth place. Behind him was sophomore Patrick Thornton (16th). Freshman Adam Kingsbury (19th) rounded off the top 20 finishers for the Mules.
The Women's Team didn't disappoint, either. Placing third out of 23 complete teams, the women finished only behind St. Thomas (Minnesota) and Washington and Lee (Virginia). Leading the way for the Mules was senior Sara Gearin, who finished in fourth place, her best showing to date. Earlier in the season, Gearin placed seventh at the Lehigh Valley Championships, and was able to top that solid performance at DeSales. Running just behind Gearin was freshman Abby Simons, who placed 17th out of 203 total competitors.
Overall, both teams have had an impressive season, and look forward to finishing the year strong at the Centennial Conference Championships.
