Many students, faculty, and staff are familiar with Parents Plaza, located outside of Seegers. This location is constantly filled with people sitting at picnic tables or benches, or just walking by gazing at the array of outlandish banners.

Students and faculty often gather under the shade of this tree infested area to meet up with friends. Here, members of the community are bound to run into at least one person they know while just walking through or taking a seat underneath the colorful signs and posters.

Parents Plaza, built over twenty years ago, has received much discussion about its future design plan. David Rabold, Capital Projects Manager, stated that the campus' "outdoor living room" needs to be reconfigured "in order [for it] to properly relate to the surrounding buildings which have changed over the years."

The architectural firm Carter van Dyke and Associates was selected from a variety of other firms for their particular plans to reconstruct Parents Plaza. The plans seen in Seegers or on the web allotted this firm the winning schematic design. Faculty, staff, students, and trustees are asked to give their input on the plan's development.

Comments received from online surveys will be taken into consideration upon the finalized design of Parents Plaza. The school can expect to see this by the start of the 2008 school year.
