Comedy Central star Demetri Martin to perform at the 'Berg

On Tues. Nov. 27 at 10 p.m., comedian Demetri Martin will be performing at the College. He will be performing in the field house in a Muhlenberg Activities Council sponsored event.
Comedy Central has recently picked up a new series by Demetri Martin. The show, entitled, "Important Things with Demetri Martin," was announced by the Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development of Comedy Central, Lauren Corrao. Martin has been a regular on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." When making the announcement about his new show, Corrao said, "Demetri Martin is truly an original. He's the only guy that can take you on a hilarious journey on the importance of apples for thirty minutes and make you laugh and make you think." Martin's show will be a "stream-of-consciousness sketch and variety show," in which Martin will analyze a single topic, and discuss it through his views. The show is executive produced by Martin himself and Jon Stewart.
Martin, who has been voted one of the "25 Funniest People in America" by Entertainment Weekly, is a Yale graduate and left NYU Law School to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He has traveled the country performing, and most recently starred in "Comedy Central Live! Demetri Martin: These are Jokes Tour." He has been promoting his CD, "These are Jokes." Martin has appeared in numerous comedy specials, and has written and performed for "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."
