The Muhlenberg Men's Soccer Team made their 13th NCAA Tournament appearance on Sat., Nov. 10, traveling to Salisbury to take on Virginia Wesleyan. Coming in with a record of 12-4, the Mules faced a tough opponent in the 16-3 Marlins, a team they haven't faced since 1996.

Getting to the Tournament was not easy for the Mules. A big component of their success has been their defensive play this season. The Mules were ranked 14th in Division III in shutout percentage (0.63) as well as save percentage (.868). They also ranked 20th in goals-against average with 0.56.

Going into the first round, the Mules found themselves quickly in a 2-0 hole at the end of the first half. They were able to come out strong in the second, though, and sophomore Samuel Hayden scored just 2:19 into the half. Unfortunately, the Marlins answered. Regaining their two-goal lead, the Marlins scored just 23 seconds later. Sophomore Eric Miller scored his team-leading 7th goal of the season in hopes of coming back, but it was not enough for the Mules.

The Marlins outshot them 18-14, and they just couldn't find the back of the net again in time. Losing by a score or 3-2, Muhlenberg was out. Virginia Wesleyan will go on to play Salisbury.

Overall, congratulations to the Men's Soccer Team for an outstanding season.
