The second, and last Student Body meeting of the semester was held on Tues., Nov. 27 in the Great Hall in Seegers Union. This second meeting garnered a somewhat better attendance, with two faculty members showing their support.

Scott Gordon '08, Student Body President, started the meeting by welcoming everyone. He thanked people for being present despite the high demand of homework most students experience during this period between Thanksgiving and Christmas break. Then, Gordon introduced the committee heads and had each one give an update.

Michelle Yost '08, Communication Committee Head, spoke about the student leader chat she had this past week with those who were interested in starting up new clubs on campus. She also discussed revamping the Student Body meetings, hoping to include "more specific topics and interesting speakers."

Barrie Schessler '09, in charge of Finances, discussed the completion of the finance manual and the revisions put into place in order to make it easier for organizations to get appropriate funding. On a different note, Matt Pierson '09, Head of the Seegers Planning Committee, has been working to keep General Quarters open on Thursday nights so students can have the opportunity to eat later without leaving campus.

An update on wireless connections around campus was given by Jordon Sones '09. He explained that wireless is expanding every week and stickers have been posted so students know if they can get wireless depending on their location. In its very early stages, there are talks about getting a DVD vending machine on campus. More immediate, students will be able to use email alias' (first name. last name@muhlenberg.edu) to send and receive emails.

The athletics committee spoke about their successful Athlete Auction and their plan to make some small changes in the Life Sports Center. The committee is attempting to make it easier for students to listen to the televisions at the cardio center by looking into different plug in systems. In addition, they hope to make renting out certain equipment a possibility in the near future.

Since there was no old or new business brought forth to Council, the rest of the time was set aside for an open forum discussion. This gave students in attendance the chance to plug upcoming events for their specific organizations. After 8-10 announcements, Gordon closed the meeting. He said, "Student Council has made great strides this semester, reaching many students and organizations. We look forward to an even better spring."
