The Women's Basketball Team had just lost their Centennial Conference opener and the new system did not appear to be working as well as Coach Ron Rohn had hoped it would. So the team had a slight change in style and made itself known as a Conference power to three intra-Conference foes and two local rivals. First the Mules traveled down 476 to Haverford College where they won 78-63 behind junior Lauren Boyle's 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals. They also received a solid contribution from freshman point guard Kelly McKeon who had 9 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. These two players have quickly become Muhlenberg's star duo.

The Mules would then return home to face local rival DeSales University. The Mules would hand the visitors their first loss of the season, 67-63, receiving 22 points from Boyle including 2 free-throws with 50 seconds left to put the Mules up for good. Boyle also led the team in assists with 5 and tied point guard McKeon in rebounds with 6. The Mules' victory over an undefeated veteran team gave them some early season confidence.

The Mules would then return to Centennial Conference play and host the Diplomats of Franklin & Marshall. The Mules looked to get above .500 in league play and received another helpful hand from McKeon who contributed 11 points, 6 assists and 10 rebounds in her first career start. The Mules offense was really clicking with three other players in double figures led by Boyle with 20, second-year player Alexis Bates with 15 and fellow sophomore Kaitlyn O'Malley with 11. The Mules also got a great rebounding effort from junior Erin McSherry with 12. The offense fueled the 72-59 victory.

The Mules finished up their pre-Christmas Conference schedule with a home game against Swarthmore. After some great scoring games from Boyle, the Mule wing was held in check with only 6 points. But an all-around team effort helped the Mules to finish 2007 with a 3-1 record in the Centennial Conference. The Mules received solid efforts from players like seniors Abra Like and Michelle Feldman who had 4 assists and 9 points respectively. They also received double figures from both O'Malley and junior Kaitlin Strumph, and got another solid performance out of Mckeon who led the team with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
