Muhlenberg had three challenging meets this week, each ending with a loss. Wed.'s Senior Night resulted in a 27-12 loss to King's College. Sat.'s dual meet against Stevens Technical Institute and King's Point turned out to be crushing defeats.

Last Wed., the team recognized its four seniors in front of a reasonable crowd. Hosting King's College, they were in for a battle. Two seniors came out on top, David Lavin (165 lbs.) and Chris Swensen (197 lbs.). Juniors Billy Hall (141 lbs.) and Rob Kein (149 lbs.) won by decisions, 9-2 and 6-4 respectively.

The team battled for five wins against Stevens, but it wasn't enough for a team victory. A pin by Hall in 3:30 and four other wins by decisions put points on the board. Kein won by decision, 7-2, and Junior Matt Horn at 184lbs. won a close match, 3-1. Seniors Swensen and Joe Tartar (HWTs) both won 3-2 over their opponents. Final team score was Stevens 24, Muhlenberg 18.

King's Point was the toughest match-up of the week. But losing to King's Point's 149 pounder, 6-4, put an end to Kein's five- match winning streak. Hall took a disappointing fall as well, losing 7-5. Tartar gained the only points for the team, winning by decision, 9-3. The day ended with a 38-6 loss. The team is eager to meet these opponents again later in the season.
