Injuries took out half of the team for last Wed.'s match against Ursinus (47-6). Only five of ten weight classes wrestled and three starters were out. Ursinus is a tough team, with five Centennial Conference Championships behind them.

The Mules forfeited the lower weights, including 125 lbs., 133 lbs., and 141 lbs. Wrestlers competed in the middle weights, but faced tough competition and were unable to gain any points. Junior Colin Gibson wrestled at 149 lbs., but was defeated 12-3. At 157 lbs., freshman Keith Swanson lost 9-1. Regular starter and senior co-captain David Lavin lost the 165 lbs. match by a score of 10-4.

Weights 174 lbs. and 184 lbs. were also forfeited due to injury. Freshman Bill Sholly lost his match at 197 lbs. The only points of the meet were from senior heavyweight Joe Tartar. Tartar picked up his 10th pin in 1 minute and 37 seconds.

Following the tough match, the team was given several days off from practice to get healthy. The injury-stricken team is hopeful to recover and pick up more wins to improve their current record (2-7). This Sat., the College is back at Ursinus to wrestle McDaniel and Washington and Lee.
