Planning and Program efforts are underway for the expansion and renovation of Seegers Union. "We involved the Muhlenberg community in the selection process of the Seegers Union architects; resulting in our finding the excellent firm of Bruner/Cott from Cambridge, Massachusetts. We will continue to involve members of our community in order to bring our best to the renovations and expansion of Seegers Union," said David Rabold, Capital Projects Manager of Plant Operations.

The goal of all administration that is involved with the ongoing project is to maintain the intimacy and vibrancy of Seegers, while enhancing its ability to accommodate additional student activities and to provide for a more up-to-date and enlarged food-services program.

"We are thrilled at the prospect of being permitted to build upon what is already a very popular and successful program space on our campus," said Rabold.

Glenn Gerchman, Director of Student Union and Campus Events, also plays an integral part in the Seegers Renovations. He is currently trying to organize focus groups made up of students, faculty, and staff to get as many opinions and ideas as possible before making any permanent decisions.

The planning team and the architects with be on campus conducting a series of meetings on Thurs., Feb. 21 and Fri., Feb 22. The dialogues being held for students on Feb. 21 will be at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. for students in Seegers' rooms 108-109. These will be two separate one hour sessions.

For faculty and staff there will be a one hour session held at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 in Seegers' rooms 108-109. In addition to these focus group sessions, the planning team will be conducting user surveys and establishing a website to receive input and distribute information on this exciting project.
