I had the beautiful experience of pulling an all nighter last night and I think it goes without saying that it was hardly an enjoyable experience. In fact, last night was even less enjoyable than usual. In the spirit of passover, one may ask, why was last night different from all other nights in the past? Well, frankly, because it was worse. It seems to get worse each time. Now, I know there are only three weeks left in the semester, but regardless, last night felt too early in the semester to be watching the sunrise over my fourth red bull and tediously editing grammar on a paper. All-nighters should be reserved for finals week only. As I labored over an eight page paper, I was not focusing on the words on the page as much as I was mourning the beautiful day I knew I was going to miss. I knew that there was no way I could appreciate the sunshine on campus as I roamed around jittering from caffeine withdrawal and red-eyed, like some sort of sleep-deprived zombie.

I realized, that this semester, more than any other, my need to get out of here, NOW. Strawberry-banana smoothies on the grass are my favorite spring-time activity, and while they provide a welcome escape from the stress that seems to be piling on with finals approaching, I'd much rather be sitting on a beach in Puerto Rico with my mother. Relaxing on campus is simply not as soothing as having the peace of mind and freedom from foreboding school work. Maybe her trip to visit my abuela is the reason I'm so bitter this week. Still, I'd take sitting at home watching re-runs of "Rock of Love" over this. I'm done.

For those of you who did not realize, this is the final issue of The Weekly for the semester, and honestly, I'm very greatful. Don't get me wrong, I love The Weekly, but I'm sick of awkwardly trying to add lines to the sex column so it fills the space I need. I am tired of begging people to answer the "question of the week". I am over begging people to let me take their picture after they've reluctantly agreed to answer my question. I'm sick of reminding people that less people will see their black and white picture in The Weekly than will see their profile picture on Facebook. I love working here, really, but, right now, I am done-zo.
