With two wins this week, the Mules Men's Lacrosse Team improved their record to 8-4. But, more importantly, Muhlenberg received votes in the national lacrosse poll. The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll released on Apr. 21 contained Muhlenberg in the "others receiving votes" category. This marks a major milestone in Muhlenberg's lacrosse program history.

On Wed., Apr. 16, the Mules hosted FDU-Florham in the first of three consecutive non-conference home games. Coming in to the game, the Mules had won four games in a row and held a record of 6-4, one victory shy of tying a school record for wins in a season. Senior star Kyle Farris continued to climb up the Muhlenberg Lacrosse record books with his career high five goal performance. That gives him 28 goals on the year, one shy of the school record and the hat-trick was his sixth of the season, tying the school record.

The first half saw the Mules lose a four goal lead only to regain it by the end of the half. Goals by senior Mike Brown and sophomore Sean Delany extended the Mules lead to 9-5 at the end of the second quarter. Sophomore Paul Munday scored a power-play goal only 23 seconds into the second half to extend the Mule lead to 10-5. Farris scored two more goals in the half and the Mules won 14-8. Brown finished the game with a career high five points.

On Sat., Apr. 19 the Mules hosted Montclair State on Senior Night. The home team did not disappoint on the special occasion. Montclair started hot by scoring four goals in the first quarter to take a 4-1 lead. The Red Hawks should have savored those four goals, because they wouldn't score anymore. The Mules formidable defense held the visitors scoreless the last 48:10 of the game.

Farris broke the school record for career goals in the third quarter with his game-tying tally. Delany would give the Mules the lead with an unassisted goal with 3:06 left in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, juniors Andrew Lolley and Nick Fletcher scored goals only 25 seconds apart to complete the Mules' streak of six unanswered goals to end the game.

The Mules won 8-4 on one of the most memorable nights in Muhlenberg Lacrosse history. The national votes received were the first in the six years of Muhlenberg's lacrosse program. There is no doubt that Muhlenberg's young lacrosse program has far exceeded their expectations.

Their next game is Apr. 26 at Ursinus.
