On Sat., Apr. 19, the Muhlenberg Track and Field Teams came storming into the Greyhound Invitational, hosted by Moravian. In the non- scoring meet, the Mules came out strong, breaking even more records than they already have. The spotlight was on junior David Chorney, though, as he set a new school record in his first-ever steeplechase. Chorney placed first with his time of 9:33.39, beating the previous school record by about 16 seconds from 2005.

Sophomore Brendan Kirk also is the new proud owner of a school record in the 400m hurdles, finishing seventh overall. Sophomore Jeremiah Lachaud had a big day, crossing the finish line in eighth place in the 200m dash, and freshman Bobby Torphy placed sixth in the 800m.

The Women's Team had a strong showing as well. Sophomore Debra Crockett placed third in the shot put and seventh in the discus, freshman Abby Simons finished fourth in the 1500 m, and sophomore Alex Faust placed seventh in the pole vault. Finally, the 4x100m relay team including freshman Lindsey Weidmann, junior Amanda Martini, senior Emily Karel, and junior Lucy Brock had an ECAC-qualifying race with a time of 52.10.
